Onward Privacy Policy

Onward helps you track your GLP-1 medication doses, weight, and protein. This policy explains what we do and do not collect. In one line: your health data stays on your device, we do not track you, and we never sell your data.

What stays on your device

Your doses, injection sites, weight entries, food and protein logs, notes, reminders, and streaks are stored on your device using Apple's on-device database. We do not receive, store, or have access to this information. If a future version offers iCloud sync, that data stays in your own private iCloud account, encrypted, and still never reaches our servers.

What leaves your device

• Nutrition lookups. When you scan a barcode or search a food by name, that barcode or name, and nothing else, is sent to public nutrition databases (Open Food Facts and the USDA FoodData Central) to return protein and nutrition info. We never send your health data, weight, doses, notes, or identity with these lookups.
• Purchases. If you subscribe to Onward Plus, Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) process your purchase and subscription status using an anonymous app-user identifier. This is not linked to your identity and is used only to manage your subscription.

What we do not do

• We do not show ads.
• We do not track you across apps or websites, and we show no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
• We do not use first-party or third-party analytics that identify you. (No analytics are active at launch.)
• We do not sell or share your health data. There is nothing to sell. We never receive it.

Camera

Onward uses your camera only to scan food barcodes, and only when you choose to. Images are processed on-device and are not stored or transmitted.

Your control

You can delete all of your data at any time: You → Privacy & data → "Delete all my data." This permanently removes your on-device data and returns the app to its initial state. You can also export your data (PDF/CSV) to share with your healthcare provider.

Children

Onward is not directed to children and is intended for adults managing their own health.

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for material changes, note it in the app. Onward supports wellness and self-tracking; it is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
